Since Christian began his tenure at Keats McFarland & Wilson in 2005, he has enjoyed the distinct opportunity to work with some of the world’s most recognizable brands and intellectual property content providers. Christian handles trademark matters including brand research and development, trademark prosecution and opposition matters before the Patent and Trademark Office, as well as brand enforcement, which includes federal district court litigation. Christian is experienced in Internet enforcement of both trademarks and copyrights, including Internet domain name dispute resolution and arbitration. Christian is also experienced in takedown measures for illegal posting of copyrighted content. Christian’s practice covers transactional intellectual property work such as the drafting of confidentiality, consultant, and development agreements, and the coordination of street enforcement campaigns to protect copyrighted works. In addition, Christian handles general commercial litigation in both state and federal court, which has included complex class action cases involving high-tech Internet businesses.

Christian is a graduate of Southwestern University School of Law, where he focused his studies in the field of intellectual property law: specifically the areas of copyright, trademark, information privacy, and media law. While attending law school, Christian interned for in-house IP Counsel at Yahoo!, Inc., for the Honorable Ernest M. Robles of the United States Bankruptcy Court, for the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center Legal Services Group, and for Keats McFarland & Wilson.

Christian’s undergraduate training in Business Information Systems affords him a distinct understanding of the importance of intellectual property rights relative to the Internet. His exposure to the Internet and study of its underlying fundamentals began in 1992, while attending Carnegie Mellon University. Christian garnered further valuable experience in the field of Electronic Commerce during his tenure in the business world, working for companies such as BizBuyer.com and LowerMyBills.com.
