Ellie's interest in intellectual property and entertainment law began before she was a student at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. Prior to attending law school, Ellie worked in the music industry for five years as a music publisher at Famous Music Publishing Companies, a division of Viacom, Inc. Ellie was responsible for searching for new talent, and liaising among songwriters and performers and record companies. She was also actively involved in contract negotiations with such writers she brought into the company.

During law school, Ellie worked in the intellectual property law departments of Fox Entertainment, Inc., Warner Bros. and the Motion Picture Association of America. She was actively engaged in protecting the intellectual property rights of all of the major studios against cybersquatters, music and video pirates and gray marketers, among others.

Upon graduating law school in 2001, Ellie worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Steven V. Wilson at the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. She has since devoted her practice to trademark and copyright enforcement, litigation and counseling. Ellie has assisted entertainment companies, media companies and sports organizations in the development of worldwide copyright and trademark protection and enforcement programs. She has litigated cases involving copyright infringement, trademark counterfeiting, class action defense, licensing, reverse confusion, unfair competition, domain name disputes and idea submission in federal and state court, and has represented clients in actions before the U.S. Copyright Office and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Ellie is currently the Manager of the firm’s Trademark Prosecution Practice department, involved in counseling regarding registration of names, titles and logos, and overseeing domestic and foreign filing and maintenance of trademark applications and registrations.

Ellie has also been involved in the protection of clients' rights against copyright and trademark infringement on the Internet, including the recovery of domain names and the removal of infringing content from websites and peer-to-peer file sharing networks. Ellie is also active in protecting clients' intellectual property rights at the U.S. borders. She has conducted several training seminars for U.S. Customs personnel, instructing them how to examine and identify counterfeit goods being imported into the country.

Ellie has worked with Keats McFarland & Wilson LLP in Beverly Hills, California since May 2003.
