Jai Rho has devoted his practice to litigation and counseling in all areas of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and unfair competition. He has successfully litigated cases throughout the United States before federal district courts, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the International Trade Commission. Many of Jai's cases have been published, including Ishida v. Taylor, 221 F.3d 1310 (Fed. Cir. 2000); Sunrise Jewelry Mfg. Corp. v. Fred S.A., 175 F.3d 1322 (Fed. Cir. 1999); West Interactive Corp. v. First Data Resources, Inc., 972 F.2d 1295 (Fed. Cir. 1992); Registration Control Systems, Inc. v. Compusystems, Inc., 922 F.2d 805 (Fed. Cir. 1990); Trell v. Marlee Electronics Corp., 912 F.2d 1443 (Fed. Cir. 1990); Windsurfing International, Inc. v. AMF, Inc., 828 F.2d 755 (Fed. Cir. 1987).
Jai represents clients who are often world leaders in their industries, and he has been involved in a broad range of technologies, such as semiconductors, solar cells, computer systems, software, firmware, printers, liquid crystal displays, optical discs, packaging equipment, wheelchair lifts, sailboards, pollution control devices, monoclonal antibodies, dynamic tomography, drug delivery systems, magnetic codes, anticounterfeiting systems, computer graphics, optical character recognition, automated call processing, optical fiber networks, optical waveguides, jewelry design, footwear design and security systems.
Jai was educated at Harvard University and the UCLA School of Law. Prior to joining Keats McFarland & Wilson, Jai was a partner at Hogan and Hartson LLP.
