Kevin M. Harr is Of Counsel for Keats McFarland & Wilson LLP. Kevin's practice is focused on the litigation of class action, mass action and complex commercial and intellectual property cases in federal and state courts. Kevin also counsels clients on general business and intellectual property matters, often assisting those clients during their negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts and intellectual property agreements.
For the first ten years of his career, Kevin was an Associate, then Counsel, in the Los Angeles office of O'Melveny & Myers LLP, where Kevin obtained considerable trial and appellate experience defending commercial, financial, intellectual property and entertainment clients in complex civil matters. These matters included class action and mass action tort cases; patent, copyright and trademark infringement cases; securities fraud and consumer class actions; professional negligence cases; and complex, multi-party insurance coverage disputes.
In May 2000, Kevin departed O'Melveny & Myers LLP and opened his own office in Beverly Hills. As a sole practitioner, Kevin has represented Internet, entertainment and other businesses in licensing disputes; copyright, trademark and domain name infringement disputes; privacy and publicity rights cases; unfair business practices and consumer fraud cases; and a variety of tort cases involving fraud, professional negligence, interference with contract and similar tort claims. From July 2001 until May 2005, Kevin also rejoined O'Melveny & Myers LLP as Of Counsel in the firm's Century City office. As Of Counsel, Kevin performed trial and appellate work on several intellectual property and entertainment business-related matters, including a major multinational merchandise licensing dispute; breaches of video production and distribution agreements; copyright, trademark and domain name infringement disputes; and cases involving the enforcement of privacy and publicity rights of music, film and television entertainers.
Kevin received his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law in May 1990, after graduating with a business degree in accounting from the University of Texas in Austin in 1987.
Kevin is a member of the State Bar of California in good standing since December 1990. Kevin also is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Central and Northern Districts of California.
