Sam Alberstadt has litigated and tried patent, trademark, and trade secret cases at every level of the federal courts and in administrative proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. International Trade Comission. Those cases cover a broad technology spectrum, including areas such as electronics and computers, home appliances, nuclear power, polymer chemistry, and the automotive industry. They also include every type of client: large and small businesses, individuals, public entities, plaintiffs and defendants.
Patent and trademark proscecution, which occupy a small part of Sam's practice, continue to inform and strengthen his IP litigation. Before 1986, when he graduated With Honors from George Washington University Law School, Sam spent more than a decade managing large public works projects, including contracts for excavating and constructing the Washington, D.C. subway. Sam obtained his B.S. with Distinction from George Washington in 1974.
Sam tempers the stress of litigation by playing the harmonica and traveling, whenever and wherever he can. He claims that he maintains his humanity by spending as much time as possible with his nieces, nephews, and two grandchildren.
